The big news for me is that I've met a very special lady. Most of you know that I've been playing at Fairmont Hot Springs in Butte, Montana, for many years, but last April I had the pleasure of meeting Judy Belknap, a long-time Butte resident but someone whose path I had never before crossed. We have since become close enough that she did me the honor of accompanying me to my 40th high school reunion in Colorado Springs last summer, where the above photo was taken.
Judy also asked me to accompany her to her cabin in Alaska to help her shut it down for the season, which we did in September. It was a lot of work but we got the job done and I managed to get some very nice pictures along the way, including this one on the way back to Anchorage. Judy has been kind enough to invite me to spend some of my days at her lovely home in Butte, for which I am very grateful. This has meant fewer drives back and forth between Colorado and Montana, which has made my old Volvo Olie very happy.
I've also posted my 2009 performace schedule for Fairmont Hot Springs, Montana. Once again, Fairmont, in addition to its wonderful pools and restaurants, is now an entirely smoke-free facility, even in the lounge.
